Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about our care, costs and what to expect — the same answers you’d get if you called and asked.
How long has Bonita Chiropractic Center been in practice?
Over 35 years. Dr. Edward O’Neill has treated Bonita Springs patients since the 1980s, and the practice has offered VAX-D and spinal decompression for more than 15 of those years.
Where is the office located?
16517 Vanderbilt Dr Suite 1, Bonita Springs, FL 34134 — on Vanderbilt Drive, minutes from Bonita Beach Road. Call (239) 992-5311 for directions.
What are your office hours?
Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8:45 am – 6:00 pm; Tuesday and Thursday 8:45 am – 12:00 pm; closed weekends.
Do you accept my insurance?
We accept most insurance plans, including Medicare, major PPOs, auto accident (PIP) and workers’ compensation. Call with your card handy and we’ll verify benefits before your visit.
What is VAX-D and is it right for me?
VAX-D is the original patented, FDA-cleared spinal decompression system — a non-surgical option for herniated discs, degenerative disc disease and sciatica. Whether it’s right for you depends on your exam; Dr. O’Neill reviews every case individually.
Can chiropractic help me avoid back surgery?
Many patients with disc problems find lasting relief through decompression and conservative care, and avoiding surgery is often the reason they come to us. Every case is different — we’ll give you an honest assessment, and refer you out if surgery truly is your best option.
Do I need a referral from my medical doctor?
No. Florida allows you to see a chiropractor directly, and most insurance plans we accept don’t require a referral.
Will I be locked into a long treatment plan?
Never. The practice philosophy is simple, short-term relief plans with no long-term contracts and no pre-payment plans — a policy patients have appreciated for 35 years.
Do you treat car accident injuries?
Yes, regularly. Florida PIP insurance covers care after an auto accident, but you must seek treatment within 14 days of the crash — so call promptly.
Is chiropractic care safe for seniors?
Yes. Gentle, low-force techniques are matched to each patient’s age, bone health and comfort. A large share of our patients are retirees — some have been with us for decades.
